Civa, as a PCB trader, is committed to responsible sourcing and ensuring that our supply chain does not contribute to human rights abuses or environmental harm. We support efforts to identify and eliminate the use of conflict minerals—specifically tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (3TG)—that originate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding regions where the trade in these minerals may be financing armed conflict.
Policy Commitment
- We are committed to sourcing products and materials from suppliers that share our values around human rights, ethics, and environmental responsibility.
- We require our suppliers to conduct due diligence on the source and chain of custody of 3TG minerals using a recognized due diligence framework such as the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains.
- We expect our suppliers to provide appropriate evidence of due diligence, including the use of industry-standard reporting tools like the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT).
- We encourage suppliers to source minerals from conflict-free smelters and refiners validated by independent third parties such as the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).
Supplier Expectations
We require our suppliers to:
- Implement and communicate a conflict minerals policy that aligns with this policy.
- Exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of 3TG minerals.
- Respond in a timely and complete manner to our information requests.
- Work with their own suppliers to ensure responsible sourcing throughout the supply chain.
Continuous Improvement
CIVA is committed to continuous improvement in our conflict minerals program. We will monitor developments in legislation and best practices and update our policy and procedures accordingly.
